Lesson 9 Review: The Church and Education

Introduction

Memory Text: “Nor did We seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ. But We were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children. So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives because you had become dear to us” (1 Thessalonians 2:6-8, NKJV)

The church is a place for Christian Education, it is a place where people can have dialogue and ask questions. There is no dumb question as stated in the study guide, by asking questions, our understanding of God becomes clearer.

Why is being kind and loving to strangers an important part of True Christian Education?

Bearing in mind that We want to walk just as Jesus did, we must see every person as a brother or sister, Jesus’s story of the injured man by the wayside tells Us that everyone is of great value and no one should be labeled as a stranger or unworthy of our love and kindness.

Why does what We do as Christians impact how others see God?

Jesus said He who is not for Him is against Him, if We are for Him, whatever we do will tell those who do not know God or who wants to know God What God is like. By living a life of a true Christian We reveal the reality and goodness of God to others.

In what ways can We point others to the reality and goodness of God?

One of the ways is by showing kindness to those faces we have not seen before, another way is by living a life that portrays God’s goodness.

What should be the starting point for the Church to be a force for Christian education?

It is imperative that We be disciples of Jesus. By following Jesus, we get the true picture of love and We also see things the way Jesus does.

What does Discipleship entail?

Followers of Christ should understand that Christian Education calls for commitment and this work is throughout our lives.

Where can We find the truth concerning what We see today?

The truth can be found only in the word of God written in the Bible, for it is written, ‘sanctify them by your truth, your word is truth’ (John 17:17).

What attitude should We put on in our search for truth?

We have to search for the truth with all our heart, for whoever seeks finds. (Jeremiah 29:13; Matthew 7:7)

Why is How We live a strong witness to those around Us?

Sharing our lives will help our message to be well understood, and experience. When We show the people around Us through our lives the love of God they will tend to do the same, they will believe more in what they see than necessarily what you have to say. However, if We live in a way to be a bad witness, others will not be able to see the love of God in a clearer picture.

In Conclusion,

Christ’s sermon on the mount educated the people on conditions for entering into the kingdom of God. This education gave the people the foundational principles of the kingdom of God, these principles form a major part of Christian Education. How We live our lives as Christians today determines what our end will become and it, of course, determines how the non-Christians around Us will see God. I pray that God empowers our church with all the education it takes to bear witness of Him in Jesus’ name.
