Memory Text: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork” (Palms 19:1 NKJV)
We need God’s word to guide the teaching of every discipline from arts to the sciences Not having God’s word to inform and guide Us can make Us lose sight of God as the Creator and sustainer of the world.
What does God do as our Creator?
God created all things. He also sustains all things We see today (Nehemiah 9:6).
What hope can We draw from what We see in our world today?
This fallen world’s beauty gives us hope that the new unfallen world will be beyond human’s wildest imaginations of beauty.
Are all beauties good and holy?
No, beauty could be deceptive also. For instance, before the fall, Eve saw the tree in the garden as good because of its appearance and she ate of the fruit, only to fall thereafter from glory.
How can One be an expert in error?
By simply not allowing our teachings and suppositions to be guided by the word of God, we can end up being experts in error.
What does Proverbs 1 teach Us about true Christian Education?
True Christian education is about the fear of God, when We have the fear of God we will seek knowledge from Him. There is wisdom in shunning evil. Proverbs 1 also tells Us that One who does not hearken to the call of wisdom will have evil befallen on Him/Her. However, those who take instruction and seek knowledge will be safe and secure without fear of evil.
How do We know that God is the creator and sustainer of life?
In Job 38, God revealed Himself to Job telling Him of His sovereignty. In the chapter, we come to understand that God is the One that preserves everything we see today from the least significant thing to the most significant Ones He sustains them all.
The science that provides explanations to all of nature cannot provide the explanation to the origin of life simply because science looks only to the natural world for answers. Everything we see today declares that there is One behind the creation process. That One is God as Christian education teaches. Above all, whatever beauty we see today cannot be compared to the beauty of the new heaven and earth. The beauty of this fallen world only indicates that the new unfallen world will be perfect. I pray that God makes Us partakers of this new heaven and earth in Jesus’ Name.
